Uterine Fibroid Herbal Tea

Uterine fibroids are benign tumors that develop in the uterus. For most women, fibroid symptoms go unnoticed but for some, these growths can be very painful, cause heavy menstrual bleeding and debilitating pelvic pressure, says MayoClinic.com. The only curable treatment for fibroids right now is to have a hysterectomy but there is some evidence that herbal teas can help alleviate some of the symptoms and shrink the fibroids to a manageable size. Chasteberry: The chasteberry tree, or vitex agnus castus, is native to southern Europe and to the Mediterranean area. The leaves, flowers and berries of the chasteberry tree, most frequently found in the forms of tinctures or teas, have all been used medicinally and is often referred to as a "hormone balancer," states the website ALTMD. In fact, in a double-blind, placebo controlled study done in Germany at the Institute for Health Care and Science found that over 52 percent of the participants that used chasteberry reported significant improvements in their menstrual symptoms. They all experienced less bloating, no or low grade headaches and less irritability. Due to chasteberry's antibacterial, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory properties, it has also been shown to help treat fibroids. According to the website, Uterine Fibroid Tumors, chasteberry tea can stop heavy menstrual bleeding that accompanies large fibroids and has the ability to shrink the tumors.

Black Cohosh Root: Is an excellent anti-inflammatory herb and heart tonic, it promotes healthy blood flow to the pelvic area. Aids in healing of uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, and endometriosis

Prickly Ash Bark: Helps the lymph and blood system eliminate fibroid tissue from the body as it breaks down.

Dandelion Root (Taraxacum Officinale): One of the richest of all plants in nutritive value and a cornerstone of traditional herbal treatments, dandelion is the archetypical Liver tonic, helping this vital organ system detoxify and cleanse the blood. Dandelion is also highly valued as a nourishing kidney tonic; the French word for dandelion, pissenlit, literally means ‘piss in bed’ a literary testament to dandelion’s dramatic diuretic effects. Dandelion also has numerous gynecological benefits and is particularly helpful for relieving bloating and digestive disturbances associated with PMS or menopause, with the beneficial side effects of increasing energy, supporting digestion, and improving metabolism.

Cinnamon Chips(Cinnamomum spp.) is one of the world’s most beloved spices, but did you know it has useful benefits for fertility as well? It has been used for years to curb heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia), including heavy bleeding due to endometriosis and uterine fibroids. Over the last 10 years it has been used to aid women with insulin resistance associated with PCOS and those with type 2 diabetes.
