Overview - The plant from which False Unicorn Root is obtained is a perennial native to the U.S.; it grows primarily in the woodlands east of the Mississippi River, flowering in the late spring. It is one of the more commonly used native American herbs; traditionally, Iroquois and Algonquin-speaking peoples used it as a diuretic and to aid reproductive system of both women and men.
Medicinal Uses - Women use false unicorn for treating ovarian cysts, menstrual problems, menopausal symptoms, vomiting from pregnancy, and infertility. Some women take it to normalize hormones after discontinuing birth control pills.
False unicorn is also used to treat digestive problems and to relieve water retention by increasing urine flow. Some people also use it to rid the intestines of worms.
Parts Used - Roots are gathered when the plant is in full flower, usually in July or August.
Precautions - False unicorn seems to be safe for most adults. Large doses can cause nausea and vomiting.
Preparation and Dosage - The appropriate dose of false unicorn depends on several factors such as the user's age, health, and several other conditions..
Most commonly false unicorn is taken as a tea. To do this, put 1 – 2 teaspoonfuls of the root in a cup of water, bring to the boil and simmer gently for 10 – 15 minutes. It is recommended that you drink this three times a day. Tincture: take 2 – 4 ml of the tincture three times a day. If taking the dried root powder, take 1/4-1/2 teaspoon (1-2 grams) three times per day.

This is one of my must have herbs, it is so hard for me to grow myself , but I am working on it. The bag smells so strongly of herbs, that I was grateful for the priority shipping. No one wants herbs that could have lost half their potency during their travel so thank you. You rock.
