Overview - Echinacea is a hardy perennial that is indigenous to Canada and the United States and organically grown, right here on our ranch. Roots are harvested after their 3rd year and sun dried. We use our own fertilizers from our chickens, Giant Chinchilla Rabbits and our Kinder Goats. We water our crops with fresh water from our private well where the water comes from the glaciers of Mt.Rainier and run through our back yard in the NisquallyRiver.
Parts Used - The root, leaves, stems and flowers.
Preparations - The above-ground parts of the plant are used to make fresh juice, infusions (warm-water teas), and tinctures. The roots are used in either cut or powdered form for capsules, fluid extracts, teas, and tinctures.
Precautions - Use with caution if you are allergic to ragweed. Persons with anemia or vertigo should avoid using echinacea.
