Overview - Astragalus is a perennial herb belonging to the Leguminosae (Fabaceae) family. Astragalus is a powerful immune booster and it is one of the principal herbs used in Chinese Medicine. It is often cooked with broths, rice, or beans for a boost to the healing energies during those illnesses that prevent one from eating normally.
Medicinal Uses - Astragalus raises metabolism and strengthens digestion, and is used in the healing of wounds and injuries. It is also used to treat general digestive disturbances, including diarrhea, gas, and bloating.

Other Uses - Astragalus can be cooked into an immune building soup with garlic, onions, carrots, shiitake mushrooms and miso.
To make a tea, steep 1 teaspoon of dried Astragalus root in 1 cup of boiling water for 3 - 5 minutes.

This was a second order (Astragalus root powder) and the quality was very nice-- fresh, aromatic, flavorful. Clearly a well grown and fresh processed.
